Not to be dramatic,
But there’s a thunderstorm in my attic!
I’m not insane, or crazy, or silly
Listen closely, you can hear it, really!
Just when I thought my life was boring,
In my own attic, it started pouring!
The thunder growls and the lightning flashes
Will the electricity turn my house to ashes?
The wind howls, and the walls begin to shiver
And in fear, I start to quiver
I run through my room and grab my things
And from the sky, a tornado siren rings
“Mom, mom! We have to go!”
I’d rather not die
In a tornado!
“What’s going on?” my confused mom said,
If we don’t leave soon, we’re all dead!
“Where’s dad?!?” I cried in fear
“He’s upstairs cleaning the attic.”
“What’s the matter, dear?”
And when she spoke those words
The sky began to clear
The birds started chirping, and a rainbow filled the air
I hear my father’s voice say
“Everything okay down there?”
I sigh in relief and crack a grin
At least there’s not a tsunami
In the garden.
