As the Sun spins along to her fiery dance
Oh, how I long to reach you
To run my fingers along your smooth edges
Could I untangle you from the Earth’s locks?
Would the stars unravel at my touch?
Or would my fingertips part you like the waves?
Pushing out, folding in
Or maybe you’re like glittering sand
A million gemstones in my palms
Would it feel like a cool winter wind
Or a sparking summer fire?
Could I paint you on my skin and keep you with me forever
Or would I fall back down to Earth untouched
With only my memories to know?
I’ll never know you’ve ended
until you’re gone
