Tacet Lake
When the cabin grew too warm
I went to tacet lake
To run three times around its edge
And hear blue bottles break.
Cause Papa Bear had had too much
And what was I to say?
I thought I’d never once relive
His troubles on that day.
But time has passed and now I am
Far from those waters deep
And who am I to thank, I ask
When love I cannot keep?
“It’s not enough to try,” she says
(My liver numbs her call)
As a man I’ve tried to learn these things
But as a child I learned them all
