Poems What's New

No Congo No Phone-Josephine Pongo

Our idols

Our obsessions

Each year new brand

No Congo No Phone

Children are renamed slaveries

They’ve become fishers of coltan

The doors of educations are locked

No Congo No Phone

The precious available coltan they come across

Are placed in our phones as food

Kids are dying everyday

Families are devastated

No Congo No Phone

Here people are blind

The US Government has glasses

But He doesn’t want his people to see the sorrowful view

No Congo No phone

The U.N. governments is transparent to the pain of Congo

But He chose to be opaque about the situation

He would rather assist the resources needed for the phone

Than the source of where the resources gave birth.

No Congo No Phone
