Into the Great Unknown
We know little,
little but much.
We know much of us,
but much less,
of them.
Them
They
These words used for those
unknown to us.
How many are there?
Thousands?
Millions?
Quadrillions?
Quintillions; of unanswered questions.
We are plagued with curiosity.
Unquenchably, voraciously, unstoppably,
Curious.
The greatest, biggest, most massive fear
Is the unknown.
That fear, almost becoming a lust.
A lust for knowledge
and facts
and preservation.
Of ideas
concepts
toys
books
poetry
stories
videos
catalogues.
A lust to preserve yourself.
To live again,
in a machine.
What an idea.
As another person;
thing.
Another idea crossing
the lips of change
through the vice of society.
Fantasy
to me
is like the pencil to my sharpener.
They fit together;
with the entire population.
The mind wonders.
It wonders
to ideas far flung,
to places not yet imagined.
A testament
to inventions unmade.
In the cosmic game of chess,
there is no good.
No bad.
Just ideas,
snowballing into fine mist.
Just branches growing,
building,
to completion.
The completion
of non-completion
of non-historical
of no history.
History will destroy the future.
What we do now Must be what others do then
what others do when.
When the world falls,
we will fall with it,
be it from within,
or be it from the stars.
In the end,
people come together,
and Worlds rise up.
